What is Twin Tweaks Editing?

When you've poured everything into your book, the last thing you want is for your readers to comment on typos, continuity conflicts, grammar mistakes, or bad facts. That's where the partners at Twin Tweaks Editing come in. You write it, then tell us what you need. We'll read your manuscript and make suggestions that you can use or toss out -- YOU are the author after all! Our goal is your satisfaction and we strive to make sure your publication prompts great reviews from your readers.

Copyediting

In general, a copyedit focuses on language and style improvement. We look for clarity (word choice, phrasing, sentence structure, repetition, and rhythm) and basic fact-checking, in addition to responsibilities performed in our proofreading stage. However, we want to make sure to meet our authors' needs so we offer copyedit levels ranging from $4-5 per 1000 words. We simply ask that you submit your first 25 pages or so for us to review. Then we can provide you with the appropriate price per 1000 words and an idea of what we plan to specifically focus on while we copyedit your manuscript.

Proofreading

After you've had your manuscript copyedited and have made your revisions, we can perform a post-copyedit read that focuses on spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency, and readability for $3.75 per 1000 words. If you used our copyediting service, feel free to let us know if you'd prefer to have the same person do the proofreading, or if you'd like a fresh set of eyes and perspective.

Polishing

Already been through both copyedit and proofreading stages but want one last look over your manuscript before calling it complete? That's what a good polish is for. At this point, your manuscript has been through all of the big changes and for $3.50 per 1000 words, we will read through looking for any glaring mistakes, typos and formatting errors.

Need the manuscript returned in a specific format? No problem. Whether it's marking up a hard copy or tracking changes in Word, we can tailor the output to your needs.

Additional Work

Need something other than a manuscript edited (résumés, dissertations, grant proposals, etc.)? Contact us for a custom quote.
